Paralegal / Contract Administrator
Location: Midland, Texas
Department: Legal / Land / Administration
Reports To: General Counsel
Position Summary
The Paralegal / Contract Administrator supports the legal, land, and commercial functions of a private oil and gas company by managing contracts, legal documentation, compliance tracking, and records administration. This role ensures agreements are accurately prepared, executed, stored, and monitored throughout their lifecycle while supporting internal stakeholders with contract-related inquiries and documentation needs.
This position requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple agreements across upstream, midstream, and corporate operations while working closely with the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Draft, review, format, and manage contracts and amendments, including:
- Oil & gas leases
- Surface use agreements
- Rights-of-way and easements
- MSAs, PSAs, NDAs, and service agreements
- JOAs and operating agreements (administrative support)
- Coordinate contract execution, including signature routing and tracking
- Maintain contract calendars and key dates (renewals, expirations, obligations)
- Ensure contracts are properly executed, stored, and indexed in company systems
- Assist with contract compliance and reporting obligations
Legal & Corporate Support
- Provide direct support to the General Counsel and coordinate with outside counsel as needed
- Assist with legal research, document preparation, and contract summaries
- Support corporate governance matters, including:
- Entity records and filings
- Board and shareholder documentation
- Resolutions and consents
- Maintain corporate records, minute books, and entity documentation
- Assist with regulatory and compliance documentation as required
Land & Operational Support
- Coordinate with Land, Operations, Accounting, and Finance teams on contract matters
- Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
Records & Document Management
- Maintain organized electronic and physical contract and legal files
- Ensure version control and confidentiality of sensitive documents
- Respond to internal requests for copies, summaries, or status of agreements
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, contract administrator, or legal assistant
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred
- Paralegal certification (NALA, NFPA, or equivalent)
- Experience with oil & gas contracts and documentation preferred
- Experience supporting upstream and/or midstream operations

GIS Analyst
Location: Midland, Texas

Position Summary
The GIS Analyst supports the company’s upstream oil and gas operations by developing, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial data related to leases, wells, surface assets, and infrastructure. This role provides accurate mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization to support land management, drilling and development planning, operations, and executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical GIS skills with an understanding of oil and gas workflows, land data, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
GIS & Mapping
- Create, update, and maintain GIS maps and spatial datasets related to:
- Oil & gas leases and acreage positions
- Well locations (permitted, drilled, producing, and plugged)
- Surface use agreements, ROWs, and easements
- Pipelines, facilities, and infrastructure
- Produce high-quality maps and exhibits for:
- Land negotiations and title review
- Acquisition & Divestiture evaluation
- Drilling and development planning
- Regulatory filings and internal presentations
- Ensure spatial accuracy and consistency across datasets
Data Management & Analysis
- Maintain GIS databases and ensure data integrity and version control
- Integrate GIS data with land, accounting, and operational systems
- Perform spatial analysis to support:
- Acreage optimization and development planning
- Offset well analysis and spacing considerations
- Surface and environmental constraints
- Assist with data validation and quality control
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Land, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory, and Finance teams
- Support landmen and legal teams with mapping for leases, curative, and due diligence
- Assist with acquisition and divestiture efforts, including data rooms and exhibits
- Respond to ad hoc mapping and analysis requests from leadership
Systems & Tools
- Utilize GIS platforms and tools, including:
- ESRI ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online)
- Spatial databases and shapefiles
- Assist with GIS workflow improvements and process documentation
- Maintain organized GIS file structures and documentation
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geoscience, Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of GIS experience, preferably in oil & gas or energy
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS tools

Division Order Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Division Order Analyst with strong title analysis expertise, advanced working and royalty interest calculation skills, deep knowledge of oil and gas leases and regulatory compliance, and the ability to collaborate across Land, Legal, and Accounting to ensure accurate revenue distribution.
Job Title: Division Order Analyst
JOB SUMMARY:
Incumbents in this role are responsible for determining the ownership of working and royalty interests in both Company Operated and Company Non-Operated wells and ensuring the proper distribution of revenue from the production associated with Company assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:
- Responsible for obtaining title opinions, analyzing, and interpreting conveyances, various agreements, curative requirements, and securing required curative and/or other documents affecting title to correctly identify parties and their ownership interests.
- Perform complex calculations of Working Interest, Net Revenue Interest, and various forms of Royalty Interest.
- Establish and maintain the division of interest in accordance with record title for revenue distribution of all parties in Company Operated wells and accurately set up and maintain the ownership decks in the Company land system.
- Review and verify Company owned interest in Company Non-operated wells with outside operators and accurately set up and maintain the ownership decks in the Company land system.
- Ensure the payment of royalties are timely, accurate, and in compliance with state and federal statutes, as well as complies with all terms of the oil and gas leases associated with the property. This includes the review of election letters, operating agreements, regulatory orders, as well as lease provisions affecting the payment of production revenue.
- Accurately and timely communicate payment processes, other related information, and resolve ownership discrepancies with working interest owners, operators, and royalty owners.
- Coordinate with personnel from various departments, including land, legal, accounting, or other land administration analysts, to properly process payments, release funds in suspense, and prepare necessary external correspondence. This includes working to resolve title defects that may affect the division of interest ownership.
- Maintain organized, sufficient, and proper documentation on matters related to ownership of interest.
- Assist with special projects such as audits, escheat, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Instruct, review, and approve changes to ownership, address research and maintenance, distribute division orders to owners, and other correspondence as required.
- Other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Energy Management, Accounting, Finance, or Business Degree preferred). A combination of education and relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil & gas industry; Land, Legal, or Land Administration preferred.
- Demonstrates a high aptitude in the analysis of complex title opinions, oil and gas leases, mineral deeds, assignments, and other documents affecting title.
- Familiarity with various State, Federal, and BLM regulations and associated websites.
- Knowledge of oil and gas laws, specifically the Texas statutes that address unclaimed property, probate, intestate, and descent and distribution of property.
- Experience with Land Management systems (PakLand & PakAccounting preferred).
- Established proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with emphasis in Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate information to interest owners outside of the Company, as well as build and maintain effective relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization.
