PBEX, LLC is based in Midland, TX and primarily operates in the Delaware and Midland Basins. Our team of oil and gas professionals have a deep knowledge of the industry across engineering, geology and land that we leverage to develop oil and gas assets. As of July 2024, PBEX has built a high valued portfolio of assets that have future horizontal development opportunities.

Timeline for EGL Resources, Inc.

1991

Fall 1991: Wes Perry and Paul Lerwick began working together to purchase non-operated properties in SE New Mexico. The team later expanded with John Starck, Mike Petraistis, Darren Printz, and Mike Newman joining the team.

December 1999: EGL Resources, Inc. (operating company) was formed. The first well drilled was the Oxy Yates 14-1 in Lea Co., NM. Vertical operations continued throughout the basin.

2007

2007: Acquired the Spanish Trail lease (~5,000 acres) in Midland County, TX. Drilled the first of 76 vertical wells on April 9, 2008 and remained the primary focus of EGL for over 6 years.

September 12, 2013: Sold the Spanish Trail lease to RSP Permian. Shortly afterward, PBEX was formed.

April 2015

April 2015: PBEX was formed with value-aligned investors and numerous oil and gas assets contributed by the Perry family.

March 2018: Retired the Preferred Stock, marking the official launch of PBEX.

October 2018

October 2018: Various EGL partners assigned their oil and gas working interests to PBEX, fueling growth.

PBEX drills first five well horizontal development in Lea County.

2025: PBEX continues growing with a robust team of 34 employees and 36,000+ net acres of land under management, continuing its legacy of value-driven growth. PBEX primary focus is horizontal development in SE New Mexico (Delaware Basin) and Midland Basin.
